Pony Camp is simply great fun for the kids, during school holidays we have camps
running on a regular basis.
Junior riders enjoy up to 5 days riding and stable management
instruction either on their own pony or on one of the centre's horses or ponies.
This gives an ideal opportunity for faster progression as it offers continuity of
teaching in both flatwork and jumping while remaining fun with hacks out in the afternoon
Riders
look after their own horse or pony for the duration of the camp with prizes awarded
for best turnout and stable management at the end of the week.
Following an assessment
the junior rider will be offered a suitable group placement and the week's riding
is planned according to the group's ability. Courses are run for between 6 and 10
riders and these either ride as a group or are divided according to activity.
A typical
day consists of a minimum 3 hours of riding and instruction along with supervised
horse care and stable management coursework. A picnic lunch is required and we request
you bring this with you each day.
On Friday afternoons we offer our junior riders
a chance to exhibit their skills and receive their awards by holding a show / gymkhana.
All family supporters are welcome!.
If you are bringing your own horse or pony then
we are here to help with schooling, general management improvement, jumping and all
competition training. All you have to do is ask!.
Special training sessions can be
arranged for riders working towards pony club, riding club or BHS. Exams.
